Financial Coaching for Individuals and Couples
Notice: I am not accepting new coaching clients at this time. If we have worked together before, you can schedule a coaching session at the bottom of this page.
Financial coaching is for individuals and couples looking to improve their financial well-being and relationship with money. How we think, feel, communicate, and behave around money impacts almost every aspect of our lives, from our relationships with others to how we view ourselves.
Financial coaching is a partnership that combines our areas of expertise: my expertise in financial subject matter with your expertise in You. The power of the financial coaching relationship can only be granted by you. You have the right to be heard and treated with respect. You also have the right not to be judged or shamed for your actions, thoughts, beliefs, or values. And you have the absolute right to accept, decline, or make a counteroffer to any coaching request, at any time.
Money is more than just numbers
Research shows that most financial decisions are made in the emotional part of the brain. Rather than processing money decisions with the logical part of our brains, we’ll often use logic to justify the emotional choices we’ve already made.
Deeply held, unconscious beliefs about money—or money scripts—usually formed in childhood, can stand in the way of lasting and meaningful change. In fact, every financial decision, even the most destructive ones, makes complete sense when we consider the emotions, thoughts, and beliefs that drive them.
How It Works
It begins with you. You decide you want to improve your financial well-being or change your relationship with money and then schedule a coaching session. You have full control over the coaching agenda—I can provide input if asked. What do you want to accomplish? We talk about the things you want to talk about. It's only about your values, not mine. I don’t tell you what you should or shouldn’t be thinking or doing with your money. Instead, I'm there to learn, guide, and support your journey toward greater financial well-being.
Together, we explore what’s important to you, what change you want to see, and what you are or are not ready and willing to do about it. We brainstorm and develop an action plan to overcome obstacles and achieve the outcomes you want. I serve as a knowledgeable resource about personal finance and behavioral finance, guiding you through the coaching process at your own pace.
Coaching is flexible. There is no set schedule or number of coaching sessions—we figure that out together based on your preferences and needs. Typically new clients meet with me 3-6 times, spread over several weeks or months.
What It Coats
The cost is $155 for a 60-minute financial coaching session over Zoom, Google Meet, or by phone, payable at the end of the session. So, for planning purposes, 3-6 sessions would cost $465-$930, paid as you go.
If for any reason, you are not satisfied with the quality of your first financial coaching session, let me know during or upon the conclusion of that first session, and we'll part ways with no payment due.
Lastly, I do not recommend or sell financial products, and I do not receive commissions or other incentives. Because of this, my clients know they will receive advice and guidance that is not biased by compensation.
